Summer Reading 2013!

Monday, June 17 to Thursday, August 1

      Registration for the Library's Summer Reading program is now open.  Please stop by the Library to pick up a registration form and brochure.  There are many exciting programs scheduled in addition to weekly activities for children of all ages.  Lets make this the best Summer Reading program yet!


Southern Authors Book Club

Thursday, May 23 at 6:30 pm

                   

      Join us as we discuss Kaye Gibbons' novel, Ellen Foster on Thursday, May 23 at 6:30 pm.  Ellen Foster tells the story of an 11-year old orphan, "old" Ellen, who has found her way from foster home to foster home after her mother passes away and her father's abusive behavior leaves her no other choice but to leave.  With the odds stacked against her, can Ellen survive her childhood and finally find peace?

      Copies of Ellen Foster may be picked up at the library.  All are welcome to attend and join the Southern Authors Book Club.


Don't Get Scammed!

Wednesday, June 5 at 1:00 pm

      Join the Better Business Bureau of Eastern North Carolina on Wednesday, June 5 at 1:00 pm at the Library to learn how to avoid being scammed.  While this program has been designed for senior citizens, everyone is invited to attend this free program.  Please call the Library at (252) 753-3355 for more information.


June Computer Classes

      The Library has scheduled the following free computer classes for the month of June:

Computer Basics  -  Monday, June 10 at 12 noon

Internet Basics  -  Monday, June 24 at 12 noon

      These classes are free and open to the public, though a seat reservation is required due to limited seating.  To make a seat reservation, please call the Library at (252) 753-3355.
