Genealogy with the Farmville Ancestor Seekers
Next date TBA
The Ancestor Seekers, Farmville's very own genealogy group dedicated to tracing their family roots, as well as sharing their expertise, knowledge and stories with others, typically meet at the Farmville Public Library the second Saturday of each month from 10:00 am to 12 noon. Genealogy enthusiasts of all skill levels are welcome and encouraged to attend.
The North Carolina Room, in dedication of William Alexander Allen, III, is located on the second floor of the Farmville Public Library and includes a collection of items fundamental to the study of genealogy and local history of Farmville, Pitt County, North Carolina and beyond. The collection is non-circulating because of the subjects and types of material it contains. A microfilm reader is also available for use, with issues of The Farmville Enterprise available on microfilm from 1914 to 1994. Patrons are welcome to visit, use materials in-hous and make photocopies.
